Alder Barn was specifically converted to offer full accessibility aspiring to M3 standard. It has wooden floors, ample turning space, floor to ceiling windows, raised sockets and lowered switches making this space easy to enjoy from a wheelchair.
On arrival, spacious parking is available on a fully tarred surface leading to ramped decking that extends around three sides of the barn. The barn is all on one level and entrances are wide with level thresholds. The spacious kitchen dining area has wheelchair access underneath the sink, hob and food preparation areas.
From the kitchen lounge, triple folding glazed doors open out to extensive decking again all easily accessible to enjoy the surrounding countryside.
Access to the four bedrooms is through a wide passageway and widened doors. Two of the bedrooms have large en suite wet rooms which include thermostatically controlled showers with fixed head and hand held attachments, lowered hand basins with lever taps with wheelchair space underneath. Grab handles are subtly placed and drop down handles can be fitted on request. These two bedrooms are large and space is provided on both sides of the bed for wheelchair transfers. In the pink room, twin beds have electronically controlled adjustments enabling the upper half of the mattress to be raised.
On request we offer a wide range of mobility aids some of which we have ourselves or we are able to hire from a local equipment supplier.
